10 Minute Basic Red Chile Sauce

This recipe uses the following products:
New Mexican Red (Hatch) - Whole


  • 12-15 Los Chileros red chile pods
  • 1/2 medium sweet onion (optional)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 qt. boiling water

Removestems and seeds from chiles and wash thoroughly. Combine in foodprocessor together with onion, garlic and salt. Pour in boiling waterand blend until smooth (approximately five minutes).

Additional Tips


  • 12 - 15 chiles rojos enteros (Chile Pods)
  • 1/2 cebolla mediana (opcional)
  • 3 dientes de ajo
  • 1 cucharadita de sal
  • 1 cuarto de agua hirviendo

Lavemuy bien quitando el rabo y las semillas de los chiles. Pongalos en lalicuadora junto con la cebolla, el ajo y la sal. Agrege el aguahiviendo y licue por 5 minutos aproximdamente.
